EURO 2008: a new DVD of rare football films

To mark EURO 2008 the Filmarchiv Austria is releasing its unique collection of football-related films and features focusing on Austrian football history. From the dream team of the 1930s to the legend of Cordoba 1978, over 50 years of football fever are brought to life by this DVD which features some rare footage. Wolfgang Maderthaner and Roman Horak, two of Austria's most prolific football historians, guide viewers through the country's fascinating football history and bring to light the many links that exist between football and cultural and contemporary history, presenting a phenomenon which has transcended the class system. The DVD will be released at the end of April and distributed as part of EURO 2008.
