Krško, eine trostlose slowenische Industriestadt. Der ehemalige Motorrad-Champion und verbitterte Witwer Ludvik lebt vom Menschenschmuggel und bringt jede Nacht illegale Flüchtlinge von Kroatien an die italienische Grenze. Der unerfahrene Rudi soll ihm dabei helfen. Anfangs entsetzt von der Unmenschlichkeit, dauert es nicht lange, bis Rudi sich an die Härte und Unerbittlichkeit des Geschäfts gewöhnt. 24 October 2015, a nice day in a nice landscape. A crowd of refugees and migrants is escorted by soldiers and police officers from the border between Slovenia and Croatia to the refugee camp in Brežice. Suddenly, the landscape no longer looks nice.
SPARE PARTS
Ludvik drives refugees from the Croatian to the Italian border. His boss appoints the young and inexperienced Rudi as his assistant. Despite his moral dilemma, Rudi soon becomes tough and relentless. The hope of a better future, which Europe embodies for the refugees, turns into a hopeless reality driven by the miserable existence of »the guides«.
